how do I get cap protection?
...............................................................................
there are several ways to get cap protection on a new home
No offer has been made on the house yet.
If working with a Realtor, ask the agent to include a CAP home warranty as part of the offer to purchase the house. If purchasing a house that is For Sale By Owner (FSBO), inform the seller in the written or verbal offer to purchase that the seller should include the CAP home warranty as part of the deal.
Remember, when buying an older home with older appliances the seller has three options: lower the price of the house, replace the old appliances, or purchase a home warranty. A CAP home warranty is usually the most cost effective solution for the seller.
The deal has already been struck or the seller refuses to include a CAP home warranty.
1) Purchase the CAP home warranty as part of the closing process of the new home and pay for the first three, six, or twelve months upfront. Click on Download CAP Brochure and select Buying A Home Brochure which has the enrollment section attached. Simply print the form, fill out the enrollment section, and get it to the closer. As part of the closing costs, this option requires paying for three, six, or twelve months in advance.
2) Rather than pay for three, six, or twelve months in advance as part of the closing process, CAP offers a Monthly Program as another option. Click Download CAP Brochure and select the Monthly Brochure. For this option, download the Monthly Brochure. Simply print the form, fill out the enrollment section, and mail it with your first month’s payment to the address on the brochure. You also have the option to submit your enrollment online by clicking here. |
